Code of conduct of LG Election 2022 to.be strictly implemented: Agha Shahnawaz Khan

BADIN: District Returning Officer/ Deputy Commissioner Badin Agha Shahnawaz Khan has said that the code of conduct issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan for the Local Body Elections 2022 will be strictly implemented and all government officials and employees who are deputed for the local body elections 2022 should ensure the compliance with Code of Conduct.

This, he was expressed while presiding over a important meeting held on Friday at Darbar Hall Badin amid to implement the code of conduct for Local Body Elections 2022.

The meeting was attended by district Govt officials including district president of Pakistan Peoples Party, Haji Ramzan Chandio, Barrister Husnain Mirza of Grand Democratic Alliance, district representatives of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Functional League, Tehreek-e-Lubaik Pakistan and other political parties.

On this occasion District Returning Officer, Agha Shahnawaz Khan stressed over the representatives of all political parties to orient their polling agents about the code of conduct. Only one polling agent would be allowed at the polling station during the votes counting process, he added.

He directed all the Returning Officers to hold a meeting regarding the implementation of the Code of Conduct in their respective talukas and address the issues to ensure adherence to the Code of Conduct.
“More than 800,000 voters/people will cast their votes at 700 polling stations for about 2,200 candidates across the district, so we are doing our best to make it easier for voters to cast their ballots,” he added.

He directed the concerned officers to finalize the plan regarding the facilities available at the polling stations and ensure proper delivery of election materials on election day so as to ensure peaceful, fair and transparent local body elections.

The Leaders of all political parties attending the meeting on the occasion assured that implementation of the Code of Conduct for Local Government Elections 2022 would be ensured.

On this occasion, SSP Badin Shahnawaz Chachar, while answering the questions of political parties, assured full proof security in the local body elections and said that the code of conduct issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan should be implemented in all cases.

On the occasion, District Monitoring Officer Zahid Hussain Bhutto gave a detailed briefing on the Code of Conduct for Local Government Elections 2022 issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan.
