“Seminar on ‘Socio-Economic Empowerment of Women through Vocational Skills’ held in Badin

BADIN: The social organizations in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department have organized seminar “Socio-Economic Empowerment of Women through Vocational Skills” at Gymkhana Badin on Thursday.
Addressing the seminar, the chief guest of event, Deputy Commissioner of Badin, Yasir Bhatti, said that women of rural Sindh are endowed with the art of handicrafts.
A committee comprising women will be formed to promote handicrafts so that these crafts can be brought to national markets, ensuring good prices for these products, Yasir Bhatti added.
While visiting the stalls set up by various social organizations, Deputy Commissioner Badin, Yasir Bhatti remarked that every nation is recognized by its culture, and we have proud of our ancient culture.
He mentioned that the seminar gathered various ideas which will be utilized and benefited from in the future.
He emphasized that the district administration is striving for the welfare of women. Additionally, he stated that Gymkhana has many facilities for women, including a gym and indoor games.
The district government, in collaboration with the municipal committee, was also constructing washrooms near bus stops and shopping centers for women’s convenience. Similarly, washrooms for women will be built wherever needed throughout the district.
The seminar was also addressed by Additional Director of Social Welfare Abdul Ghaffar Khoso, District Health Officer Dr. Zaheeruddin Memon, Assistant Director Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal, Shanil Ahmed Baloch, Vice Chairman Municipal Committee Badin, Ali Akbar Memon, Assistant Director Social Welfare Deen Muhammad Deero, and representatives from social organizations including LHDP, HANDS, SRSO, NRSP, Surmi RDF, Hamdam Foundation and others.
