Two-Day Workshop on Leadership Skills, Women, Minorities Rights and Local Government at SALU Khairpur

KHAIRPUR:A Two-Day Workshop on Leadership Skills, Women, Minorities Rights and Local Government was held at Student Societies Centre Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur jointly organized by University and Marvi Rural Development Organization (MRDO), Sukkur. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor presided over the concluding session.

Talking to the participants of workshop, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said this training will provide an ample opportunity to learn about leadership skills and responsibilities as result, confidence building will be developed among the participants of the workshop who will contribute positively in the society for empowering women and sensitize about minority rights and role of local government in resolving the problems of the community. He said MRDO is working for the welfare of the community and its capacity building. Dr. Ibupoto said we have to play the role of teachers, parents and as good leader.

Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences said it is need of the time that institutional collaboration may be promoted for conducting such result oriented sessions for the nation building. He appreciated the patronage of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto for providing a viable platform for students.

Mr. Salman Ali, Grant Manager, MRDO extended his vote of thanks to the Vice Chancellor, guests and the participants of the workshop. He shed light on the objectives of the workshop. He told that the two areas Pir Jo Goth and Piryaloi were selected. The participants attended the workshop on the different modules extensively. He also appreciated the contribution of Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur especially the role of incumbent Vice Chancellor for providing golden opportunity for organizing such workshop.

Mr. Din Muhammad Shaikh, Director Social Welfare, Sukkur Division said that it is the need of the time that the civil society may play positive role for the betterment of community and society especially for the promotion of women and minorities rights. During the training the participants learnt the role of leaders, negotiation skills and effective communication also.

Advocate Bashir Bhand and Ms. Babli Kumari, Trainees also shared their views about the workshop. They said that the training workshop will be beneficial for the capacity building of the different segments of the society who attended the training. They said that the training was knowledge based and effective engagement.
Dr. Ali Raza Lashari conducted the proceedings of the workshop. A large number of participants attended the workshop.
Ms. Saira Solangi, Mr. Raj Kumar, Mr. Din Muhammad Shaikh, Mr. Muhammad Ali Ilyas Sahito, Adv. Ghazala Anjum, Syed Qurban Ali Shah were the Resource Persons of the workshop.
