0.4 million children to get polio vaccine drops in district Badin

BADIN: 0.4 million children under the age of five will be vaccinated against polio in district Badin during seven days long vaccination drive to be commenced from May 23, 2022.
These views were expressed by Agha Shahnawaz Khan, Deputy Commissioner Badin while chairing meeting of District Polio Eradication Committee ( DPEC) on discussion over NEAP mechanism, EPI, AFP surveillance, resources, trainings, micro plan, field validation and last campaign issues on Saturday at DC campus office Badin.
The meeting was attended by large number of Govt officials including Najeeb Jamali, ADC-I, Dr. Sher Muhammad Nohrio, DHO Badin, Dr. Mumtaz Ali Chandio, DDHO Badin, Muhammad Saleh Korejo, DEO Education, Dr. Abdullah Jat, Sohail Rathor, DHCSO Badin, Sawan Khaskheli, LHDP, Din Muhammad Dero, SWD and others.

Agha Shahnawaz Khan maintained that people of Badin must deal with childhood immunization to prevent children from the fatal disease adding that around 0.4 million children of district would be given Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV).
DC Badin observed that innocent children can be prevented from the childhood diseases like Polio, measles and other diseases through vaccination adding he also sought the support of media to raise awareness regarding the polio campaign adding he told that we should continue the same momentum as previous, we would achieved a significant results and for this we need hard work, he added. He advised the Assistant Commissioners to to attend orientation workshop regarding polio campaign, its mechanism and how to take the households clusters during the campaign.

DC said that all concerned stakeholders including Govt Officials should take part and join hands to run successful campaign adding he also warned the officials that no negligency in this terms to be accepted at any cost.
He also directed the health authorities to mobilize and aware the students and children through panaflaxes and pamphlets distributing in schools adding he directed the health authorities to set up campus against heat stroke in the district specially in city Badin.
Earlier, Dr. Karim Bux, NStop Officer apprised the participants of the meeting regarding the Polio Campaign and its mechanism.
