Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, have announced their decision to separate after being married for 18 years. The announcement was made through an Instagram post where Trudeau stated that they had engaged in meaningful and difficult conversations before reaching this decision.
In their identical messages, they emphasized that despite the separation, they still maintain a close family bond with deep love and respect for each other, and they will continue to build upon what they have established together. They also requested privacy for the sake of their children’s well-being.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Trudeau and Grégoire Trudeau have already signed a legal separation agreement, ensuring that all necessary steps have been taken regarding their decision. Both parents are committed to providing a safe, loving, and collaborative environment for their children, and they plan to spend time together as a family, including going on vacation together starting from the following week.
Trudeau, aged 51, and Sophie, aged 48, tied the knot in late May 2005, and they have three children together.
