Citizens demand to implement Senior Citizen Act for the welfare of the elderly people

SHIKARPUR: The elderly villagers, residents of Gada Hussain Shar and village Achar Jogi, talking with media men said that our villages are deprived of fundamental facilities including electricity, gas connections, government schools, and other facilities, but they said that Sindh Rural Support Organization [SRSO] has been providing help to resolve outstanding issues and urged upon the high-ups to take steps to implement Senior Citizen Act-2016, during a gathering held at both villages, here on Wednesday.
Soomar Khan, the president of Buzrig Dost organization, Ms. Sabiha Bhutto, Ms. Sajjida, Abdul Sami Unar, Lal Bux, Noor Uddin, Khair Muhammad, and others said that Sindh Assembly has passed Senior Citizen Act-2016 to provide rights to older people of Sindh, but they regretted that still the ordinance has not been implemented adding we have also recorded their protest to implement on the bill, but all in vain, furthermore they villagers said that SRSO has also held many programs to aware older peoples.
Villagers further said that SRSO has been providing financial assistance and also demanded the Social Welfare Department and other concerned departments to take steps to implement on Senior Citizen Bill.
