Scientists have discovered a rare fish thousands of feet deep in the Pacific Ocean that has a clear view of the interior of its head.
In the head of the fish, where there are eyes, there are sniffing glands from which it takes the function of ‘nose’.
At the back of the head, on the very inside, are the eyes of a fish that look like two bullets in its transparent head.
Found in the seas of Japan and California from the Bering Sea, this fish is called “barrel eyefish” because of its strange eyes.
It is found at depths of two thousand to two and a half thousand feet, in places where sunlight cannot reach.
