Earthquake shakes different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Earthquake tremors have been felt in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

The quake affected Swat, Peshawar, Nowshera, Shabqadar, Mohmand, Bajaur, Lower Dir, Malakand, surrounding areas and Abbottabad. Besides, tremors were also felt in Chitral.

After the tremors, people in different areas came out of their houses chanting the Kalima Tayyaba.

According to the Meteorological Department, the magnitude of the quake was 5.3 on the Richter scale and the depth was 180 km.

The epicenter was reported below the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border, however; no tsunami alert was issued.
