LONDON: Chris White, England’s chief medical officer, has claimed that a new strain of the rapidly spreading corona virus has been discovered in England.
In his statement, the Chief Medical Officer said that a new type of Corona has arrived in the UK which can spread very fast and we have to work on it quickly so that it does not cause more deaths.
He added that according to statistics, the new variety is spreading in the southeast, while the advisory group has also expressed concern about the rapid spread of the new variety.
“Restrictions that were relaxed for 5 days at Christmas will now be relaxed for one day only.”
On the other hand, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has introduced fourth-level lockdown restrictions amid fears of a new outbreak of the corona virus.
Boris Johnson says Tier Four will take effect in the Southeast, including London, from Sunday, while the five-day easing of Christmas restrictions will now be relaxed for just one day.
He said that non-essential shops, gyms and hairdressers would remain closed in the Tier Four areas but people would be able to leave home for work, exercise and education or child care.
Boris Johnson said that people in the Tier Four area would not be allowed to make Christmas bubbles, but in other areas, only three families would be able to meet on Christmas day.
He said that the review of Tier Four would take place on December 30. People should also take care of the rules on New Year.
People in the Tier Four area have also been advised to stay out of the house and avoid going abroad.
It should be noted that the process of vaccination against coronavirus has also started in the UK.
