Slain miners laid to rest in Quetta’s Hazara Town

QUETTA: Funeral prayers of martyred miners in Machh tragedy were offered.

In Hazara Town, Quetta, Allama Hashim Mousavi led the funeral prayers of the martyrs in which a large number of people participated.

Besides, Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Suri, Special Assistant Zulfi Bukhari, Federal Minister Ali Zaidi and others also attended the funeral prayers.

MWM leader Allama Nasir Abbas Shirazi said that 10 graves were dug in the cemetery of Hazara Town and all the dead will be buried here, the legal heirs of all the dead are here.

It may be recalled that on January 3, 11 miners were killed by gunmen in a coal field in Machh area of ​​Balochistan, after which their heirs staged a six-day sit-in in Quetta with the bodies and demanded the arrival of the Prime Minister.

Sit-ins were also called in different cities including Karachi and Lahore over the tragedy, sit-ins were called at more than 30 places in Karachi which severely affected the traffic system in the city and flights were also delayed due to flight operations.

After the talks between the government negotiating team and the sit-in participants were successful last night, the family members agreed to bury the bodies.
