Literati Urge Sindh Govt to own Poet Ghulam Hussain Rangrez

SUJAWAL: The behavior meted out to Ghulam Hussain Rangrez at different hospitals in Karachi has perturbed the literati of district Thatta and Sujawal.
As per the information received renowned poet, writer, and academia Ghulam Hussain Rangrez was shifted to a private hospital in Gulshan-e-Hadeed on Saturday evening where his condition deteriorated and he was moved to Indus hospital for treatment but the hospital administration refused to admit him saying that all the beds were full and there was no vacancy for a new patient later he was brought to Civil Hospital Karachi
Ghulam Hussain Rangrez an eminent poet of yesteryear, academia and a historian who has contributed extensively in the field of literature is now helplessly battling for life without any support from the Sindh government or the culture department.
When contacted his son Shafi Mohammad Rangrez told this correspondent that his father was putting up with multiple health complications and was shifted to a private hospital in Gulshan-e-Hadeed when his health started worsening.
Ghulam Hussain Ranrez was a poet, story writer, novelist, lawyer, and social activist who has rendered phenomenal services in the field of literature. After the tragic deaths of his sons tore him and he parted ways with the field of literature.
Famous books of Rangreez,s poetry include “Sarmad Cha tho Soche”, “Wakhar So Wahi”, “Ghulam Ja Thekla”, and “Song Sahi Soch”. Other than that he served as Trainer of elementary teachers at Mirpur Bathoro and later as secretary-general of Sindhi Adabi Sangat.
Writer Zahid Ishque in this regard said that Rangreez graces around three generations of Sindh with the jewel of knowledge adding that because of his literary services Sindh government should endow the expenses of his treatment.
Poet Ayaz Amar Sheikh said that A man of Sain Rangreez,s caliber should be owned by the Sindh Government,s its reluctance he said would cause a sense of deprivation among the poets, writers, and artists of Sindh.
