Jamaat-e-Islami rejects Sindh’s new local government law and announces sit-in
Under the auspices of Jamaat-e-Islami against the local government system of Sindh, a ‘Haq Do Karachi Ko’ march was held from Mazar-e-Quaid to Tibet Center in which a large number of women, children and people participated.
Addressing the participants, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Siraj-ul-Haq said that Sindh government did not give anything to the people.
He said that Karachi has been turned into an orphanage but he wanted to point out that no one can rob Karachi of its rights, the city does not want a powerless mayor.
Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, said that Karachi does not need charity, it should be given an account of Rs. 1100 billion.
On this occasion, Jamaat-e-Islami announced a sit-in on December 31 in front of the Sindh Assembly against the local government system.
