Former PPP leader, son of Makhdoom Talib-ul-Maula Makhdoom Khaliq-ul-Zaman passes away in Karachi after prolong illness. He was admitted to South City Hospital. Makhdoom Khaliq remained active during MRD movement in 1983-86 and was imprisoned. When differences errupted between Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi in 1986, Makhoom Khaliq was made PPP Sindh president replacing Late Jatoi. But soon he resigned from the post. Makhdoom Khaliq got elected MNA from Tando Allahyar in 1988 election. After that he left PPP and later joined Jam Sadiq camp and was elected Senator in 1991. Later he joined PPP Shaheed Bhutto led by Mir Murtaza Bhutto. After tragic death of Murtaza in Sept 1996, Makhdoom Khaliq sidelined himself from practical politics and never appeared again
