Services of Veteran Journalist Abdul-Raheman Khushik Eulogised

THATTA: A fascinating event was held at Ghorabari Press Club in Var a locality of District Thatta to eulogise the remarkable services of seasoned Journalist Abdul Rahman Khushik on Saturday evening.
Chairman Sindhi Language Authority Dr Mohammad Ali Manjhi, Secretary Makli Press Club Mahboob Brohi, Dr Hakeem Khushik, his fellow journalists and people hailing from different walks of life attended the event.
Shedding light on significant services of the veteran Journalist Secretary Ghorabari Press Club Qaisar Chandio said that Mr Khushik introduced them to the different aspects of Journalism and he was among the most dynamic Journalists of the coastal region.
His colleague M. Ismail Memon said that Raheman was among those of his field who wrote truth and never compromised on his principles adding that he faced all sorts of difficulties during his career spanning over 30 years but never stopped writing.
Renowned Journalist Mahboob Brohi during his speech said that Journalism is a sacred profession but few black-sheep were trying to defile it for the sake of their “petty-interest”. He further said that Mr Khushik was an icon for those who wanted to pursue their career in the field of Journalism. He said that education was the only way through which we could rid Sindh of the “Waderashai”- Feudalism.
Chief guest at the Event Chairman Sindhi language Authority Dr Mohammad Ali Manjhi said that Mr Khushik always used his pen for raising the voice of his people adding that his contributions were evident of his sheer determination and diligence towards his profession.
Abdul Rahman Khushik in whose honour the event was organised said ” Iam indebted for the hounor and esteem I have got from my people tonight and have been getting for the past 32 years”. He further said that Despite countless hurdles he continued to be on the forefront to rise the issues of people. Earlier he got tumultuous welcome on his arrival. Towards the end of the event an emerging singer of Sindh Mahboob Khaskeli enthralled audience with his melodious voice.
