SHIKARPUR: A confrontation between the Junejo and Kalhoro clans in the riverine area of Madeji, Shikarpur district, turned deadly as armed individuals from both groups exchanged fire. The dispute centered around farmland and resulted in the tragic deaths of eight people. An additional four individuals sustained critical injuries during the clash. The Junejos allegedly instigated the attack, causing the deaths of several Kalhoro members. In retaliation, the Kalhoros responded with gunfire, leading to casualties among the Junejos. Due to a delayed police response, villagers transported the deceased and injured to the local Madeji government hospital. The police eventually arrived, collecting the bodies and sending them for legal procedures, while the injured were transferred to Sukkur Civil Hospital for treatment. Despite the seriousness of the incident, an official case has not been registered at any police station in the district. Authorities took precautions to secure the area and prevent further outbreaks of violence.
