The Sindh government has decided to decentralize the Solid Waste Management Authority.
According to details, a meeting of Karachi Coordination Committee has been held under the chairmanship of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in which it was informed regarding decentralization of Solid Waste Management Authority.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister Sindh said that Sindh Solid Waste Management Authority is being decentralized while a draft of changes in the law of SSWMA has been prepared.
The Chief Minister Sindh said that 6 boards would be formed at each divisional headquarters level of SSWMA and each board would be independent to work in its area.
According to the new draft, the chairman of the board will be the divisional commissioner, the concerned mayor / chairman will also be in the board while private members will also be taken in the board.
