The Minister for Population Welfare warned of the rapidly growing population in Punjab

LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Population Welfare Hashim Dogar has warned about the growing population of the province.

Addressing an awareness seminar for parliamentarians in Lahore, Hashim Dogar warned that if the population continues to grow at the same rate, the population of Punjab will reach 22 crore by 2040. He said that for such a population, 7 new schools a day, 66 Millions of jobs and 35,000 homes will be needed.

The provincial minister said that education, health, food, sanitation are the basic issues for which the scholars are grateful that they are standing by our side to make people aware of population issues in 10 districts.

Hashim Dogar said that the Population Welfare Department is making every effort to create awareness among the people about the growing population and the problems arising out of it.
