At least three people lost their lives when a passenger bus caught fire on the National Highway near Uthal, as reported by Geo News on Thursday.
The tragic incident occurred while the bus was traveling from Karachi to Quetta. The fire broke out overnight in the Wayaro area near Uthal.
Several passengers managed to escape by jumping out of the burning bus. Rescue teams arrived promptly to extinguish the flames and rescued seven injured individuals from the vehicle. The highway was temporarily blocked following the accident. The injured passengers have been transported to the District Headquarters Hospital in Uthal for treatment.
Humaira Baloch, Deputy Commissioner of Lasbela, stated that rescue teams were immediately dispatched upon receiving news of the accident. “Hospital staff have been put on high alert due to the potential for casualties,” she mentioned.
Sources indicate that the bus was carrying 28 passengers at the time. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
