2020 was the worst year in the country’s history in terms of cotton production

Farmers in South Punjab are facing difficulties due to poor cotton crop.

The year 2020 has been the worst year in the history of the country in terms of cotton crop production in which only 3.8 million acres of cotton could be cultivated.

The target for cotton production per acre was set at 23 manats and barely 17 manats per acre while the total production was 5.5 million bales.

60% of the cotton war factories could not be activated due to which thousands of people are facing unemployment.
