JAMSHORO: Today is the second death anniversary of noted writer and journalist Shahzado Gulfam. He was born at Village Tikhir District Tando Muhammad Khan on 2nd March 1935. His real name was Ghulam Muhammad s/o Ali Muhammad Memon. He studied at Noor Muhammad High School, Muslim College and City College Hyderabad. He received M.A. (Sociology) degree from University of Sindh, Jamshoro.
He joined Sindh University Jamshoro in 1956 and served on various posts including Additional Controller of Examination, P.A. to Vice Chancellor and Manager of the University Press.
He became popular as “Shahzado Gulfam” when he joined “Filmi Magazine”. He also served as editor of the Magazine “Baadal” and Incharge of weekly Film Edition of Daily Ibrat Hyderabad.
Shahzado Gulfam was also a Dramatist and Script writer. He wrote many stage and Radio Drama. His weekly radio feature “گامونءَ جا گفتا” was very popular among listeners. He wrote lyrics for the Sindhi film “ڌرتي ۽ آڪاش” and worked as an actor in the film “رت ۽ اجرڪ”.
He died on 24th April 2019 at Sindh University Colony Jamshoro.
