After telling Palestinians to go ‘south’, Israeli forces intensify offensive in southern Gaza

After weeks of relentless bombardment in northern Gaza and repeated warnings to Palestinians to evacuate and move south, Israel has now intensified its offensive in the southern part of the beleaguered strip as well, BBC reported quoting Israeli army radio.

According to Reuters, Israel’s Chief of General Staff Herzi Halevi has said that his forces will match its earlier offensive against Hamas in the northern part of the Palestinian enclave.

“We fought strongly and thoroughly in the northern Gaza Strip, and we are also doing it now in the southern Gaza,” he said in a statement.
