All Sindh Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women’s Hockey Gold Cup opening ceremony held in Sukkur

SUKKUR: A colorful opening ceremony of All Sindh Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women’s Hockey Gold Cup was held with the joint cooperation of Sindh Department of Sports and Youth Affairs and Sukkur Division Women Hockey Association. Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Sindh Syed Imtiaz Ali Shah, Secretary General Olympian Asif Bajwa of Pakistan Hockey Federation, Chairman Selection Committee Hockey Federation Olympian Manzoor Hussain Jr., Member Selection Committee Olympian Nasir Ali, Senior Sports Anchor Mirza Iqbal Baig, Senior Sports Anchor Syed Yahya. Hussaini, KHA Chairman Gul Faraz Ahmed KHA Secretary Haider Hussain, Senior Vice President HASSP Ijazuddin. Meanwhile, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Imtiaz Ali Shah handed over a relief check of Rs 50,000 to Imran Ali Abro, a player who was injured in a hockey match last year. Media Manager Pakistan Hockey Federation Waqas Sheikh, President Hockey Association Sukkur Division Arif Mahmood, Organizing Secretary Saira Bhatti and others were present on the occasion. The inaugural match of the first All Sindh Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women’s Hockey Gold Cup was played at Hockey Stadium Sukkur between Sukkur and Larkana teams. Sukkur, Karachi, Shaheed Benazirabad, Larkana, Mirpur Khas, Syed Khurshid Ahmad Shah Hockey Academy and other teams are participating in the first All Sindh Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women’s Hockey Gold Cup. Provincial Minister for Women’s Development Syeda Shehla Razane while addressing on the occasion said. The cooperation of the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs in organizing the first All Sindh Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women’s Hockey Gold Cup is unforgettable. Gold Cup is being held in Sukkur. Sukkur will remain the center. The talent of girls should be given more priority. The development of hockey needs to be further enhanced. The Sindh government is taking serious steps in the promotion of football, hockey and other sports. Today, we are happy. The services of Hanif Bhai, Gulfraz and Haider are unforgettable in this Gold Cup. Secretary Sports and Affairs Syed Imtiaz Ali Shah said that there is no shortage of talent in Sukkur. He said that Sukkur has to be given the same position as it had in the past. He said that there is a lot of interest in children. I was very happy to see such an environment. Secretary General of Pakistan Hockey Federation Olympian Asif Bajwa said in his address that the women hockey players deserve many congratulations who have come from all over Sindh to participate in the first All Sindh Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Hockey Gold Cup in Sukkur. I am very happy to see the enthusiasm and enthusiasm and I hope that these girls will use their talents and join the national team. He said that through the President of Pakistan Hockey Federation Brigadier Sajjad Khalid Khokhar, I assure you that Pakistan Hockey Federation has used all its resources. The hockey federation will extend all possible cooperation in ensuring the provision of facilities without any discrimination. Earlier, honorary shields were also given to all the guests including provincial women’s development Syeda Shehla Raza. KK students performed Sindhi cultural tableaux and melodies. President Hockey Association Sukkur Division Arif Mahmood presented Sindhi cultural awards and hats to all the guests. Provincial Minister Syeda Shehla Raza also distributed hockey to Mirpur Khas and Karachi hockey teams.
