Five deceased individuals were discovered on Christmas Day in a residence in the town of Meaux, situated to the east of Paris. The local prosecutor informed AFP that a homicide investigation had been initiated.
According to the initial report by news website Actu17, the victims included a woman and her four young children. It was further stated that law enforcement was actively searching for the 33-year-old father, who is currently evading authorities. Prosecutor Jean-Baptiste Bladier affirmed to AFP that five bodies had been found.
The Versailles judicial police service is leading the investigation. Recent times have witnessed a series of tragic incidents in the Paris region, particularly concerning infanticides.
In a distressing event in late November, a 41-year-old man admitted to the murder of his three daughters, aged four to 11, and voluntarily surrendered to the authorities. The lifeless bodies of the victims were discovered in his residence in the town of Alfortville, situated in the southeastern suburbs of the capital. A month prior, in October, a gendarme took the lives of his three daughters before ending his own life at his residence in Vemars in Val-d’Oise.
