Chief of Naval Staff Squash Championship kicks off in Karachi today

The 16th Chief of the Naval Staff International Squash Championship 2024 is scheduled to kick off from May 8 to May 12 at the Pakistan Navy Roshan Khan Jahangir Khan Squash Complex in Karachi, as per an announcement by Pakistan Navy on Tuesday.

A press conference regarding the tournament was held in Karachi.

This esteemed championship will witness a total of 23 matches with a prize pool of US $20,000, and it holds the status of being a PSA Challenger Series for Men.

Nineteen international players, alongside five Pakistani players, all with international rankings, will compete in this year’s championship. The participants represent eight countries: Egypt, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Czech Republic, Japan, Germany, England, and the Netherlands, bringing a diverse international flavor to the event.

In a move to foster diversity and inclusivity in squash, this year’s tournament introduces four categories: PSA Women Satellite Series, U-15 Boys, U-13 Boys, and U-15 Girls. Each category will feature 15 matches, providing a platform for budding talents to demonstrate their prowess.

This championship holds official registration with the Professional Squash Association (PSA), headquartered in London, UK, underscoring its significance within the global squash arena.
