CJP wishes people of Thar to get their all basic rights

MITHI: The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Gulzar Ahmed has said Thar has great potential of religious tourism and stressed upon the concerned authorities to make the concerted efforts to further promote it and earn enough from such healthy activities.

Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Gulzar Ahmed on Saturday addressing the ceremony organized by Thar Bar Council in Mithi town, asked the people of the desert district to file their petitions in the apex court and other available forums for the resolution of their core problems and issues adding he said that he was glad to have visited Thar and got the opportunity to meet the hospitable Thari people.

The CJP said that people of Thar if given the opportunities could earn enough by selling their traditional home-made products in international markets adding he said that people of Thar had the great potential and he had himself observed their talent and skills.

” The Thari products have high value in the international markets” he added and advised the rulers to provide the required facilities to them so that they could get best of their skills and talents.

He said that he had extensively travelled across the country and other parts of Sindh but always found people of Sindh very nice and simple with high values and with rich culture. He wished that the people of Thar would get their all basic rights, adding there was no reason to deny them their legitimate rights. He said that the people of Thar had every right to their own resources and lands.

He said that people of Thar had the right to get all the fundamental rights, adding he said nobody could deprive them of their basic rights. ” There is also a need to connect Thar by laying the railway line from Mirpur Khas so that people of the desert district could easily travel to other parts of the country and sell their traditional goods and crops,” he added.

Chief Justice of Pakistan highly lauded DC Tharparkar Mohammad Nawaz Sohoo and hoped that he would continue to serve the people of Tharparkar in future with the commitment. Advocate Wasand Thari, the president of Thar Bar Council thanked Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Gulzar Ahmed for visiting Thar and presented the charter of the demands containing the issues of the district with all details but CJP did not mention any of the points raised in his demands and remarked that DC had briefed had informed him otherwise on the issues of the district.

Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Gulzar Ahmed as was expected did not visit Civil Hospital Mithi during his stay in the town and proceeded to Islamkot to visit Thar Coalfields. Where he was reportedly briefed by the officials of the coalfields about different projects.
