Salamabad: Dr. Faisal Sultan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Health, has appealed to the Ulema to play their role in reducing the spread of Corona in Ramadan.

Briefing the media in Islamabad, Dr. Faisal Sultan said that about 50 per cent of Corona SOPs are being implemented, precautionary measures are required under SOPs to deal with the third wave as the number of patients with critical condition is increasing. He said that there were 3300 cases in June when the disease was in full swing, now the pressure on health workers is high, the number of patients with critical condition is increasing.

Dr. Faisal Sultan said that the use of masks is not even 5% at present and despite the ban, indoor dining is going on in restaurants while business hours are not being implemented.

The Special Assistant appealed to the Ulema to play their role in the holy month of Ramadan. He said that the Ulema had cooperated a lot in the last Ramadan and their role would be very useful in preventing the spread of the epidemic.

He added that the vaccine protects against corona but is not 100% effective, so caution is needed with the vaccine as the spread of the disease has had a devastating effect on the health system.
