Government High School Var awaiting reconstruction for 14 Years

By: Kamran Khamiso Khowaja
THATTA: For 14 years Government High School Var is in a dismantled state, despite adamant attempts made by the teachers, the reconstruction work could not be resumed.
The High School is functioning in a nearby primary school and it becomes hard for the teacher to adjust to such a large number of students in a single classroom. The reconstruction of the High School was approved by the government way back in 2006, the contract of reconstruction was assigned to a local contractor who had not returned back to work since demolition of the roof of the building
Many a time officials of the Education department had visited the obliterated building but no headway could be made for its reconstruction.
A teacher on condition of anonymity told that they had time and again approached the concerned authorities regarding the issue but they were not paying heed to it, he further said that in such a congested aura where the students of primary school and High school were being taught together, it was hard for them to follow the SOPs issued by the government following the pandemic
Teachers demanded higher authorities of reconstruction of the High School Building
