NAB arrests PML-N leader Khawaja Asif

 

LAHORE”: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested PML-N leader Khawaja Asif.

NAB arrested Khawaja Asif from Ahsan Iqbal’s house in Islamabad, which was confirmed by the PML-N spokesperson.
Maryam Aurangzeb said that NAB arrested Khawaja Asif and took him into custody from Ahsan Iqbal’s house in Islamabad.

According to NAB sources, Khawaja Asif has been arrested in a case of disproportionate assets.

According to sources, the arrest warrants of Khawaja Asif were issued with the signatures of NAB chairman and he is being transferred to NAB Rawalpindi office.
Sources said that Khawaja Asif will undergo a medical examination at NAB Rawalpindi and transit remand of Khawaja Asif will be taken from the accountability court Islamabad tomorrow morning.

It may be recalled that Khawaja Asif is the PML-N’s parliamentary leader in the National Assembly and has also been a former foreign minister.

Khawaja Asif has been elected Member National Assembly from NA-73 Sialkot-2 on PML-N ticket.

It may be mentioned that Khawaja Asif has been summoned several times by the National Accountability Bureau in foreign residency cases and assets in excess of income.
