One villager shot dead; several sustained bullet injuries in an ongoing clash

SHIKARPUR: One villager identified as Muhammad Anwar, around forty years old, by caste Jatoi, was shot dead while at least one dozen villagers, belonging to Sobharo Jatoi and Lashkari Jatoi groups, sustained bullet injuries in firing owing to an ongoing dispute over agricultural land outside the village Rasool Bux Kursi Jatoi, in the limits of Chak Police Station, some approximately 60 Kilometers off from here, on Friday.
According to the concerned SHO that, a deadly dispute erupted between two groups of Jatoi community persons over Agricultural Land and claimed one life of Muhammad Anwar Jatoi, and left at least one dozen villager injured.
Following the incident, area police rushed on the spot and controlled the situation, and moved the body of the deceased and injured to Chak and Lakhi Ghulam Shah Hospitals for autopsy and injured for medical treatment from where the body of the deceased handed over to his heirs while serious injured were moved to Sukkur Hospital and normal injured were admitted at concerned hospitals for medical treatment.
Officer further stated that the names of injured belonging to Sobharo group are Ghulam Sarwar, Muhammad Khan, Abdul Shakoor, Manzoor, Dilbar, Ghous Bux, Arbelo, Mansoor, Haji, Sikandar, while injured belonging to Lashkari are Lashkari, Ahsan, Muhabullah, and Liaquat Kurshi Jatoi.
It was said to be a deadly dispute started two and a half years ago over the ownership of Agricultural land.
Neither an FIR was lodged nor police have made an arrest till filing of this news file.
