Orientation Session on NFTP held at SALU Khairpur

KHAIRPUR :An Orientation Session on National Freelance Training Program (NFTP) was held at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur jointly organized by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and University. Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences presided the session.
Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari said this training will impart the youth to get the knowledge about to start their earnings through freelancing. He remarked that in this cyber age, there are number of opportunities for youth. The technology refers to adaptation of new methods in our daily life. Through freelancing earning, the social status of the youth will be enhanced. Dr. Lashari appreciated the efforts of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto for providing a viable platform to youth. He also commended the efforts of Prof. Dr. Naveed Ahmed Shaikh, Director Postgraduate Studies for providing proper guidance to students.
Prof. Dr. Naveed Ahmed Shaikh said it is part of linkage. He said technology boom has changed the mindset of the youth. Technology is the main source of earning. He advised the youth to use the technology in positive manner. Dr. Shaikh said producer and consumer are wealth oriented behavior.
Mr. Chaudhry Ahmed Islam, Joint Director Freelancing Projects PITB said we have trained more than 60,000 youth as result, they earned Rs. 3.63 Million income since 2017 to date. Especially women remained beneficiary. He quoted the case study of Bangladesh where 44 Billion Dollars were earned through freelancing. He said we are working with the Ministry of Telecommunication. Currently, we have established 5 Training Centers in Sindh where more than 2000 students were trained. 500 students earned 9 Lac rupees.
Ms. Resham Jamshed, Regional Manager PITB briefed about Erozgar. She said Erozgar has been successfully working in Punjab. We will start three months course at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur. The outlines regarding freelancing will be provided and five-day classes will be conducted. She also shed light on the process of registration.

Ms. Shahida Amir Chandio, Incharge Department of Political Science said this is a good initiative taken by the PITB. The Trainers will train the female students also. This will provide an earning opportunity. She said this program will also enhance the Interprovincial Harmony through strong linkages.
Mr. Saddam Hussain, Mr. Muhammad Naveed, Mr. Mughes-ur-Rehman, Mr. Samar Abbas shared their experiences about the freelancing.
Syed Qambar Ali Shah, program Manager Operations PITB and large number of students attended the session. Mr. Ali Raza Lashari conducted the proceedings of the sessions.
