KHAIRPUR : A Paigham-e-Pakistan Seminar was organized by the Office of the Student Advisor, Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur in collaboration with Center for Reconciliation and Reconstruction Studies, Islamic Research Institute, International Islamic University Islamabad. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto chaired the seminar while Dr. Zia-ur-Rehman, Director General, Center for Reconciliation and Reconstruction Studies, Islamic Research Institute, International Islamic University, Islamabad was the chief guest. Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Student Advisor Mr. Ishrat Ali Mirani, Project Director Paigham-e-Pakistan Mr. Rustam Khan and Ms. Shahida Amir Chandio were the guests of honor.
Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said that peace is essential for human survival and it is the best practice in educational institutions to conduct such programs for peace and tolerance. He said that teachers and parents could play a key role in restoring peace in educational institutions. Dr. Ibupoto said that the Paigham-e- Pakistan is the name of human rights which gave the opportunity to the students to play a practical role for peace, unity and tolerance.
Dr. Zia-ur-Rehman said that peace is the right of everyone. It is the need of hour that every individual may play his pivotal role to eradicate extremism, terrorism and killings otherwise conspiracies will prevail. He said we have to serve the country and the nation without any discrimination.
On this occasion, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari said that essence of peace is imperative for our survival. The militant tendencies could be eradicated through peace building.
Mr. Ishrat Ali Mirani welcomed the audience in the seminar. He said that under the visionary leadership of Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto such activities are being conducted. He stressed the students to take their efforts for the promotion of social cohesion, tolerance, interfaith harmony at the campus.
Prof. Shahida Amir Chandio, Mr. Amjad Ali, Ms. Saba Najam Ali, Mr. Atif Raza and others also addressed the seminar. On this occasion, young singer Mr. Manzar Hussaini from Music & Art Club Shah Abdul Latif University and others presented national songs.
The seminar was attended by Dr. Amir Ali Chandio, Prof. Ghulam Mustafa Buledi, Dr. Khalida Mehar, Dr. Liaquat Ali Chandio, Dr. Naveed Ahmed Sheikh, teachers and a large number of students.
