PFUJ delegation calls on Sindh Home Minister, Speaker SA and IGP

KARACHI: Under the leadership of Mazhar Abbas, the Convener of the Sindh Action Committee of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), a high-level delegation of media organizations held a detailed meeting in the Sindh Assembly with Speaker Sindh Assembly Syed Awais Qadir Shah, Interior Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar and IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon. Secretary Finance of PFUJ Lala Asad Pathan, Vice President Khursheed Abbasi, Khalid Khokhar, KPC President Saeed Sarbazi, HPC President Lala Rehman Samo, KUJ President Tahir Hassan Khan, General Secretary Sardar Liaquat, and Javed Chaudhry were amongst the members of the delegation, who met with the IGP Sindh, Speaker and Home Minister. In the meeting, a briefing of one hour was given by the IG Sindh regarding the cases of martyred Jan Muhammad Mahar, Nasrullah Gadani, and injured journalist Hyder Mastoi. During this time, leaders of the Sindh Action Committee raised several important questions, which were answered by the Interior Minister, Speaker and IG Sindh. They assured the journalist leaders that the Sindh Government has instructed all relevant authorities to arrest all suspects involved in these cases. It was decided between journalist leaders and relevant authorities of the Sindh Government that until all the accused individuals involved in these three cases are arrested, joint meetings will be held every ten days to keep the journalist community informed about the progress of the arrests.
