KHAIRPUR ،:The Ph. D Open Defense Seminar was held in the Department of Pakistan Studies, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur presided over by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto. Ph. D Research Scholar Mr. Allah Dino Mangrio defended his research on the topic “Devolution Plan 2001 and Public Service Delivery in Pakistan: A Case Study of Education Sector of Sindh” under the supervision of Prof. (Retd.) Dr. Imdad Hussain Sahito and co-supervision of Prof. Dr. Amir Ahmed Khuhro.
Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said the research scholar has presented research work on modern lines to justify his work. The scholar has recommended significant suggestions for the improvement of education and critically examined the devolution plan 2001. The research work will be beneficial for the students and future scholars.
Mr. Allah Dino Mangrio said that my research provides an explanation of the devolution plan in Pakistan under General Pervez Musharraf. He said that devolution was made to improve governance and public service delivery by increasing allocate efficiency and productive efficiency through increase accountability of local government to citizens.
Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences said that the research work of the scholar will be beneficial in the field of Pakistan Studies. He said that this research provides an explanation of the devolution and education reforms in Sindh.
Prof. (Retd.) Dr. Imdad Hussain Sahito, Supervisor appreciated the research work presented by the scholar. He said that the research work will be value-added for the Department of Pakistan Studies.
Prof. Dr. Aftaz Ahmed Gillani and Prof. Dr. Farooque Ahmed also shed light on the work of the research scholar. They said this work will pave a way for new research scholars. They appreciated the academic and research interest of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto who is committed to promote the quality research culture at the campus.
Dr. Siraj Ahmed Soomro, Chairman Department of Pakistan Studies commended the work of scholar and said that the research scholar has extensively delivered his Open Defense.
Prof. Dr. Naveed Ahmed Shaikh, Director Postgraduate Studies conducted the proceedings of the Open Defense Seminar. The seminar was declared as successful. A large number of Faculty Members and Research Scholars attended the seminar.
