PML-N to have 12, PPP seven members in federal cabinet: sources

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to add 12 PML-N MNAs to his federal cabinet, while PPP will get seven slots, sources told a newsman Thursday.

PM Shehbaz was sworn in as the prime minister on April 11, following the removal of Imran Khan through a no-confidence motion — making him the first premier to be removed through the democratic process.

Sources further said Raja Pervez Ashraf is the candidate for National Assembly speaker as the office is vacant after Asad Qaiser decided to step down late Saturday, while a JUI-F MNA might become the deputy speaker — as Qasim Suri is also facing a no-confidence motion.
