Rehman Malik, chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Home Affairs, asked Prime Minister Imran Khan to clarify his plan in the wake of the corona virus.
During a press conference in Islamabad, the former federal interior minister also demanded the imposition of a medical emergency in the country.
He said that due to the increase in corona cases in the capital, hospitals have been filled and many patients are not getting beds.
Rehman Malik added that more people were being affected by the second wave of corona virus, adding that immediate beds and oxygen supply should be ensured in hospitals.
He said that the government should also focus on ordering vaccines as soon as possible and make it a priority as many countries have now bought vaccines.
The former home minister also said that the government should hold a parliamentary session to discuss the government’s plan to block the corona virus and the prime minister should sit down with all parties to find a solution.
Rehman Malik said that what is happening on our borders at the moment is in front of everyone, with the corona virus rising and rising while there is a danger of a third wave of epidemics.
He said that the government should sit down with the opposition and resolve the issues, adding that in the current situation, political confrontation would harm democracy.
