Protest held against the corruption of Qadir Bux Bedil Library In-charge

SHIKARPUR: A massive protest demonstration was held in front of Qadir Bux Bedil, Sindh Government Library, to record protest against its Incharge Fareed Shaikh, and leveled allegations of misappropriation and embezzlement in government funds and taking benefits and protesters also marched various routes up to Shikarpur Press Club to record their protest, here on Thursday.
The rally was led by Zubair Soomro, Nasim Bukhari, Humeer Chandio, Sajjad Mahar, Mukhtiar Soomro, Imran Mnagi, Zia Shah, and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Nasim Bukhari, Humeer Chandio, Zubeer Soomro, and Imran Mangi allegedly leveled severe allegation against library Incharge, Fareed Shaikh, and said that he is involved in severe misappropriation and embezzlement in government funds and involved in utilizing government funds for his ulterior motives and said that he took away solar plates, batteries, ceiling fans, and other articles to his home and also took bribe in making four doors of glasses amounting to Rs. 2.7 million furthermore instead of taking efforts for the welfare of the students of Shikarpur.
The speakers termed him ineligible and demanded the minister cultural and tourism department to appoint an eligible librarian in Shikarpur, protesters however also demanded that transform the name of the library in its original name “Jugan Nath Public Library”, build public toilets for students of the library, remove the encroachment which was made with the consents with Incharge Librarian, also build separate reading room Sameera Zareen Girls Reading Hall and reading hall for children as well, make the library computerize, remove the private parking at the premises of the library, and also install CCTV cameras to monitor the activities of students and staff as well, and impose a ban to meet friends and relatives in the premises of library during the closing times of the library in last speakers also urged upon the high ups to hold an inquiry against Fareed Shaikh who allegedly involved in corruption and demanded the immediate transfer of Fareed Shaikh.
A large number of people belonging to political, religious and nationalist parties and people belonging to different walks of life took part in protests and endorsed the demands of speakers and raised their voices against injustice and corruption made by Fareed Shaikh.
