Sindh condemns stealing of water by Punjab

SUKKUR: The Sindh government has threatened Punjab that if it did not stop stealing water from Sindh, the Sindh government along with the settlers led by Bilawal Bhutto would cross the Sindh-Punjab border. It will close it by holding a sit-in and will also bring a resolution in the next session of the Sindh Assembly against this act of Punjab and the Federation. According to details, after the visit to Sukkur Barrage, Sindh Minister for Irrigation Suhail Anwar Sial and Information Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah referring to the press, he said that Punjab is stealing water from Sindh by opening Chashma Link Canal and TP Link Canal and it has also started projects to generate five megawatts of electricity on these two canals due to which Sindh Is not losing its share. At present, there is a total water shortage of 50% in Sindh. At present, there is a shortage of 20% water at Sukkur Barrage and 44% at Kotri Barrage, due to which the areas beyond Kotri Barrage. People in Hyderabad and Karachi in particular are longing for drinking water. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has raised the issue of who has common interests. The ministers said that they do not want anyone’s rights to be violated and even in this water crisis, we want Balochistan to get its share from Guddu Barrage. We are giving water and we want the water of Sindh not to be stolen. He said that Sindh is being abused and even the representative of Sindh government in Panjnad and Taunsa has been expelled from there. They will not remain silent on this. The claimants of the state of Madinah are playing the role of the state of Yazid. He said that PPP does not only talk about the rights of Sindh, it also has a strong stand on the issues of Punjab, Balochistan and KPK. We are talking about the whole of Pakistan but here the incompetence of the incompetent government is making Sindh barren. He said that the position of PPP on the issue of Palestine and Kashmir has been clear but today we are mourning the water of Sindh. Criticizing the QM and GDA, he said that the allies of the federal government who become claimants of Karachi are the ones who want water for Karachi He is silent on the issue. He makes daily political statements but he has not made a single statement on the issue of water in Sindh including Karachi. He does not have the strength to take up the issue with the federal government. The incompetence of the federal government is destroying the economy as well as the agriculture sector. In response to a question on the occasion, Provincial Minister Suhail Anwar Sial claimed that there is no occupation of any part of the river in Sindh and all the forests of Sindh.
