Religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil’s son passes away in Khanewal

Renowned Islamic scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil’s son, Asim Jamil, tragically passed away on Sunday in Khanewal district, Punjab. The news of Asim’s death was shared by his father on X (formerly known as Twitter), stating that Asim had died in Tulamba, Khanewal, Punjab. The cause of his death was revealed to be a gunshot wound, as confirmed by Multan RPO Sohail Chaudhry. Asim was shot in the chest, and the police were on-site, collecting information about the incident.

Punjab Inspector General of Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, has requested a detailed report from the Multan RPO regarding the incident. The police are diligently working to determine the circumstances surrounding Asim’s death, relying on evidence and forensic analysis. Senior officials, including Khanewal DPO, have arrived at the scene and gathered relevant evidence.

The nation was deeply saddened by the sudden loss, leading people from various backgrounds to offer their condolences and support to Maulana Tariq Jamil and his family. PML-N President and former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his sorrow, extending heartfelt condolences and prayers to the grieving family. He, along with National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, prayed for strength and solace for Maulana Tariq Jamil and his family during this challenging time, hoping for the departed soul to find eternal peace.
