Jam Khan Shoro rejects baseless allegations of Punjab’s Irrigation Minister

Karachi: Sindh Minister for Irrigation Department Jam Khan Shoro has rejected the basless and false allegations levelled by the Punjab’s Minister of Irrigation department Mohsin Laghari against Sindh Irrigation department regarding the visits of discharge observation teams for the monitoring and regulation of water discharge at Taunsa and Guddu barrages during his meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan held few days ago.Sindh Minister for Irrigation Department Jam Khan Shoro said that his counterpart of Punjab province Mohsin Laghari misleaded Prime Minister Imran Khan regarding the visits of discharge observation teams and also did misinterpretation of facts about joint monitoring of Taunsa and Guddu barrages, which is highly condemable act and we are rejecting these false and misleading facts. He added that Provincial Irrigation Minister of Punjab Mohsin Laghari had briefed Prime Minister Imran Khan by telling him inaccurate facts about Sindh Irrigation department which was very regrettable act. He informed that Sindh discharge observation team took visit of Punjab province for monitoring the regulation record of Taunsa Barrage on 18-11-2021, but regrettably, firstly, administration of Punjab Irrigation department didn’t allow the Sindh Irrigation department’s team for more than four hours to enter at Taunsa Barrage and they also rectified the regulation of Taunsa Barrage . Jam Khan Shoro said that the statement of Punjab’s irrigation minister that Sindh Province didn’t allow the observation team of pubjab at Guddu Barrage is also based on baseless accusations while in reality, the Sindh Irrigation department’s team fully cooperated with Punjab’s team and also verified discharges and guage of Guddu Barrage and found them corrected. In this regard, Sindh Irrigation department had informed the concerned authorities of IRSA by sending a letter on 26th of November, 2021.
