JACOBABAD: Protest for arrest of murderers end on minister’s assurance

JACOBABAD: Father and son killed as a result of clash between two groups of Rind tribe within the limits of Tajo Dero police station of Garhi Khairo tehsil of Jacobabad. Ahmed and his son Asad Ali Rind were killed on the spot on the pretext of clash on agriculture land ownership. Police reached the spot and stopped firing. Tensions have risen in the area after the incident. Police took the body into custody and rushed it to the hospital for autopsy.Heirs of deceased at village Muhammad Nawaz Rind and people from Rind tribe staged sit in and blocked main Garhi Khairo and Jacobabad Road today in the evening led by Adovocate Gulzar Ahmed Rind and demanded for arrest of culparits. On the information of the blocked main road Provincial Minister for prisons Sindh Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani reached at the spot and negotiated with heirs and protectors, after a two hours on the assurance of provincial minister the protestors ended sit in and opened main road for traffic. Talking to media on the occasion, Mir Ijaz Jakhrani said that the killers would be arrested immediately. In this regard, he has issued instructions to Jacobabad police and Jacobabad police is competent and its leadership is in the hands of an honest person. It is hoped that they will give positive results immediately. Responding to a question, he said that crime is happening all over the world but they also have the resources to eradicate crime. Despite limited resources, the Sindh government is strengthening the police and justice departments to curb other crimes, including tribal clashes, from across the province, including Jacobabad.
