Turkish Govt vows to assist people of flood affected areas in rehabilitation phase: Khalil Ibrahim

BADIN: The Turkish Government determined to assist the flood affected people in rehabilitation phase in Pakistan including district Badin. Productive and solid measures were being taken for the restoration of agriculture in the flood affected areas with the support of the local people and Pakistan Government.

These views were expressed by Khalil Ibrahim, Coordinator, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TiKA) while visiting Badin, Pangrio town and other flood affected areas of the Tando Bago on Tuesday.

He deplored to see of the shatter and devastation scenes of floods in different areas of district Badin adding that Turkish people were fully aware of the issues and challenges of Pakistani brothers and Turkish Govt was doing its best to assist Pakistani brothers in irony days, he added.

Mr. Khalil Ibrahim said that assistance would provide especially to increase the production of wheat while providing quality wheat seeds adding that the objective of the assistance is to reduce food insecurity challenges in the Pakistan saying that rehabilitation work after the disasters of any country is a difficult phase and said that Turkish Govt & people were playing their role of its best in this stage.

The TiKA coordinator also assured that wheat seeds will be provided to the small farmers in the flood-affected areas of district Badin.

‘Turkish Govt & people will continue assistance to their Pakistani brethren in their every difficult hour’, TiKA Coordinator added.

An agricultural expert, Professor Muhammad Ismail Kumbhar thanked Turkish Govt & brethren saying that this assistance to contribute in restoring the agricultural sector in the flood affected areas & increasing in wheat production that benefit the small farmers as well as the country and the people of Pakistan and help in preventing the threat of food insecurity.

On the occasion, Dr. Aijaz Kumbhar, Najibullah Lail, Professor Muhammad Ismail Kumbhar and others also presented the traditional gifts of Sindh to Turkish delegation.
