Tree plantation campaign begins in Shikarpur

SHIKARPUR: Sindh Boy Scout Association Shikarpur initiated a campaign to start plants of the fruits and other having friendly atmosphere to reduce heat and to make clean, neat, green and fertile Pakistan with helping hands and venerable People at Divisional Scout Head Quarters Shikarpur, here on Saturday.
Professor Afzal Shaikh, Mir Mahdi Hassan Khan Jatoi, Waheed Phulpoto, Dr Amir Abbas Soomro, Sayed Muhammad Ali Shah, Sarang Bapar, Waheed Brohi, Nazeer Soomro, Agha Muneer Pathan, Shoukat Baloch, Sami Channa, A. Wahab Kagzi, Muhammad Alam Ghalo, RJ Mahboob Baloch, Zahid Pahore, Rahim Larik and others planted the fruit and other tree plants at the premises of Boy Scouts.
Speaking on the occasion, leaders said that once upon a time Shikarpur was famous owing to fruit and other trees and remembered as Paris of Sindh owing to greenery and cold winds, but nowadays Shikarpur turned into a heatable city and termed the campaign a great sign and urged upon the people of Shikarpur to plant a tree at their homes so that increasing atmosphere of heat could be reduced.
In last, the participants prayed Almighty Allah to grow the fruit and other trees with their blessings.
