US President Biden and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation on the issue of tension between Russia and Ukraine.
According to the White House, in a 50-minute conversation, President Joe Biden told his Russian counterpart that the United States would “fully respond” to any aggression against Ukraine. He also reiterated Russia’s support for resolving the issue through diplomacy.
Russia, meanwhile, says President Putin has warned the US president that economic sanctions on Moscow would be a “serious mistake” and could further strain relations between the two countries.
It is thought to be the second telephone call between the two presidents in three weeks over tensions in Ukraine.
