Finance adviser Senator Shaukat Tareen says the government will meet the conditions of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) before January 12.
According to sources, the federal government will present the amended finance bill in the National Assembly on Tuesday, December 28.
Sources said that the ایف 1 billion loan installment of the IMF is subject to the amended finance bill while the SBP’s sovereignty bill will also be presented in the assembly along with the finance bill. The sixth review report will be presented at the IMF Executive Board meeting on January 12.
Shaukat Tareen says that Pakistan will fulfill the conditions of IMF before January 12, the tax exemption of Rs 350 billion will be withdrawn in the amended finance bill.
In this regard, the sources said that the condition of IMF is that the amended finance bill must be passed by the assembly therefore the amended finance bill will not come into force from the ordinance.
