SHIKARPUR :The 75th Independence Day of Pakistan was commemorated at Shaikh Ayaz University, Shikarpur with national spirit, fervor and zeal. Prof. Dr. G.Raza Bhatti, Vice Chancellor, Shaikh Ayaz University, Shikarpur and Mr. Rahim Bux Awan graced the occasion as chief guests.The Flag Hoisting Ceremony followed by prayer for progress and prosperity of motherland was offered outside of administration block.
Afterward celebration in Bhagat Kanwar Auditorium of the university started with recitation of holy Quran. Later on audience stood up in respect of national anthem of Pakistan. A video message by worthy Vice Chancellor to express deep gratitude for arm forces, higher education sector, civil citizens and employees over 75th diamond jubilee independence day was played.
Mr. Bakhtiar Ahmed Kubar, additional registrar Academics gave brief talk highlighting role of founding fathers for creating independent state, ideals of freedom movement and importance of freedom. He said, Sir Sayed Ahmed Khan put Muslims on right track, emphasising them to concentrate on education and Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah led them to final destination without any bloodshed. He said we have achieved many goals of independence and remaining can be achieved by following footsteps of our founding fathers.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. G Raza Bhatti addressing audience said freedom is precious gift that we have achieved through sacrifices and long struggle of our forefathers. Our homeland is our mother that feeds us. We not only have to protect it but also take our country to new heights of development. While narrating glorifying past of the Muslims he said once Muslims excelled in science and technology but with passage of time, we diverted from education. Now if we want to revive our excellent past again we have to focus on science and technology. He said we have to build and strengthen our institutions, it can only be possible when we will start peeping into ourselves rather than taking fingers to each other. In last he took pledge from all employees to concentrate on similarities, positive attributes and do work of own part. He said let’s nip the differences into bud, let’s stop pointing out and seeking negative attributes in other people, because it is only way to move forward and it is real celebration of independence of motherland.
After motivating and patriotic talk by the Vice Chancellor Dr. G Raza Bhatti diamond jubilee celebration ceremony of Pakistan concluded with cutting of cake by little kids of the university employees.
