BADIN: The children are nation’s future & tomorrow’s citizens, said Agha Shahnawaz Khan, Deputy Commissioner, Badin while chairing an important meeting on district Polio Eradication Committee (DPEC) meeting for Measles Rubella Catch up campaign 2021 at Darbar Hall Badin on Tuesday.

Deputy Commissioner pleasured that children are the world’s hope for a better future so it’s our prime responsibility to protect children from incurable and fatal disease saying that its not only responsibility of the health department but needs the networking consisted on all of us, politicians, social actors and health department and others concerned.

Adding DC Badin underlined the need of initiating the awareness campaign among the masses regarding Measles Rubella vaccine. He stressed the local Government to initiate the awareness campaign at union council level regarding measles rubella amid to make it as success campaign. Agha Shahnawaz Khan warned the concerned departments of no any negelence to be tolerated.

DC Badin assured all possible support to the concerned departments for success of the campaign saying that his office always supports for the cause mentioned.

Meanwhile, Dr. Karim Bakhsh Gadahi, NSTOP officer briefed that participants that a national wide measles Rubella vaccine campaign was being introduced in Pakistan through a Catch-up campaign from November 15, 2021.

He apprised that with support of the Govt of Pakistan, UNICEF and WHO total 779986 children aged 09 months to 15 years will receive one dose measles rubella vaccine in district and sharing the details of teams that 85 fixed teams, 542 outreach teams, 05 mobile teams would be the part of the campaign. He briefed that 632 skilled persons, 632 team assistance, 1174 social mobilizers and 108 1st level supervisors, 20 2nd level supervisors, four DHMT supervisors and one district AEFI focal person would be take part of the campaign.

The meeting was attracted by Assistant Commissioner Badin, Mohammad Younis Rind, ADC-II, AC Matli, AC Golarchi and number of doctors, Police department, Education Department, Social Welfare Department, EPI, LHDP, HANDS, NRSP, PPHI, IHS, SRSO and others.
