Diamond Jubilee of Independence Day celebrated with traditional fervor

BADIN: The “Diamond Jubilee” of 75th Independence Day of the country was celebrated on Sunday with traditional zeal and fervor in Badin. The special prayers were offered in mosques at dawn for peace, solidarity and prosperity of the country.
The national flag has hoisted at all important Govt, public and private buildings across the district when public and private buildings as well as streets, bazaars and markets have been profusely illuminated. National flags, buntings, portraits of founding father, posters and banners were also seen everywhere as part of the celebration of Independence Day in the district.
In connection with celebration of the “Diamond Jubilee” 75th Independence Day of Pakistan the main flag-hoisting ceremony was held at Gymkhana Badin. The speech competition on various topics related to Independence Day in English, Urdu and Sindhi among the position holders students of different schools belonging to all the Talukas and songs were presented.
On the eve, Agha Shahnawaz Khan, Deputy Commissioner who was the chief guest of the ceremony, congratulated all the citizens on the 75th Independence Day of Pakistan saying that today we should all stand with a commitment to make our country proud making our land the cradle of peace, love, tolerance and unity. We should play our role for the development of our beloved homeland, he added.
DC said that during the rain emergency, all concerned departments including Revenue, Health, Local Govt, police, education and others have played its pivotal role and served the astounded in rescue and relief activities in the district on his request. I am also grateful to the local journalists who also played their splendid role for making aware the people of the district, he added saying that soon district administration with support of local journalists, civil society and notable citizens would launch a campaign for the betterment of district. He said that he is grateful ever for the love and affection that he received from the people of Badin.
Earlier, a minute’s silence was observed to pay rich tribute to the martyred of Pakistan Army officers scarified their lives in the copter crash in Lasbela district of Baluchistan. DC also honored the shields to the students who secured the positions in speech contests meanwhile he also honored the shield to the people of different walks of life who performed extra-ordinary during the rain emergency in their respective fields. Later, DC Badin kicked off the plantation campaign by planting saplings in the premises of Gymkhana Badin.
On this occasion, Najeeb Rehman Jamali, Additional Deputy Commissioner-I, Sher Muhammad Nohrio, District Health Officer, Waqar Ahmed Kalwar, Additional Deputy Commissioner-II along with officers of different Departments including Education, Police, Rangers, Public Health Engineering, Municipal Committee, Livestock, Drainage, Irrigation, Social Welfare and others along with journalists, representatives of civil society, teachers and students of various schools also participated the celebration in large numbers.
