Health experts say that the fifth wave of global corona epidemic in Pakistan has started from Karachi.
Federal officials say Corona’s Omicron variant is spreading like wildfire in Karachi.
According to the officials, the rate of corona positive cases from Omicron variant in Karachi has gone up to 7% while the vaccination rate in Karachi is only 40% which is increasing the cases.
Health experts also say that the next number after Karachi is Lahore where cases will increase due to Omicron while community transmission of Omicron has also started in Islamabad.
Dr. Faisal Mehmood in this regard said that strict measures are needed to prevent cases in Karachi, the number of corona cases will also increase the number of patients in hospitals.
He says it is too early to say whether the Omicron variant is less dangerous.
It may be recalled that the head of NCOC and Federal Minister Asad Umar have also expressed concern over the fifth wave of Corona in Pakistan.
