In Pakistan’s three largest cities, Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore, cases of the South African type of corona omicron are on the rise.
According to the NCOC, Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad are witnessing a sharp rise in South African cases of Corona.
According to official figures, 64 cases of Omicron have been confirmed in Islamabad so far while 49 out of 50 Omicron cases in Punjab are from Lahore.
Micro Smart Lockdown has been implemented till January 14 in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 7 area of Karachi after 11 cases of Omicron came to light.
