Govt taking steps to end corruption, says DC Badin

BADIN: Agha Shahnawaz Khan, Deputy Commissioner Badin said that Government was taking concrete steps to end the scourge of corruption from the province adding he underlined the need for self-accountability and called upon the participants to play their effective role in eradicating corruption from society.
While addressing the participants of the seminar held at Darbar hall Badin on Thursday and then rally was also organized in Badin to mark International Anti-Corruption Day and participated by number of representatives from different Departments, NGOs and civil society, Agha Shahnawaz Khan said that observance of International Anti-Corruption Day seeks to highlight the rights and responsibilities of everyone including States, Government officials, civil servants, the private sector, civil society, academia, the public and youth in tackling corruption.
He said that corrupt practices had marred the performance and progress and that there was dire need to purge the institutions of corruption adding that government was taking effective measures to eliminate corruption but also stressed that each individual had to play his role in fighting against the menace.
Meanwhile rally was also taken place from DC office and concluded at main road of Badin-Karachi and the participants were holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans highlighting importance of the day which was observed with a renewed commitment to weed out the menace from the society.
On the occasion, Hassan Baloch, ADC-I Badin, Liaquat Lund, ADC-II, Mohammad Younis Rind, Assistant Commissioner Badin, Safdar Ali Panhwar, Officer, Anti-Corruption, Ghafar Khoso, Deputy Director, Social Welfare Badin and others also addressed the participants.
